Wincing at the cost of flying FX artists from out of state? Wondering why that studio you just gave half your budget to isn't returning your calls?
You now have a local solution!
That's right. Portland, OR is now home to Ravenous Studios. We have partnered up with Brian Sipe's Gamut Studios in Seattle to offer Hollywood level fx without leaving the northwest. Let our combined facilities, talent, and experience take the stress out of getting great fx for your film.
Check out www.gamut-studios.com to see Brian's amazing portfolio.
Due to the incredible response to opening our doors, we've been out in the shop instead of on the computer. Studio website coming soon!
06/07/09 Zombie prom was awesome! Thank you to those PDX residents who trusted the team to transform them into the walking dead.
Visited Crypticon in Seattle yesterday. Good to see old friends and make many new ones. Some of the booth highlights for me were visiting amazing makeup artist Brian Sipe and his wonderful team, Kevin O'Dell who is the makeup artist for "The Tunnel", David Walker and Ken Foree of "Black Santa's Revenge", and Lloyd Kaufman of Troma fame. Bumped into Mike Prosser while wandering the aisles. His film "Recovery" is premiering this Saturday at the Clinton Street Theatre. "Recovery" stars a surgery scar and a wonderful little scary rodent named Wally that I was lucky enough to help with.
Coming up soon, a trip to International Makeup Artist Tradeshow in L.A. and more.

05/01/09 The shop is exploding!
Having recently moved into my workshop digs, I'm still finding what is in this box....and that box...
Just kidding. I'm unpacked for the most part, but there is still the occasional treasure I find squirreled away. I am looking forward to gearing up this summer to produce monsters and mayhem as much as possible. I'm getting booked up for film season here in Oregon, so please call sooner rather than later for your project.
I'm also trying to get back to updating the website. I've been very busy in the last year, and I'm realizing I haven't posted new pictures near enough!
Tomorrow I'm teaching another workshop locally. I am really enjoy teaching and sharing what I've learned over the years.
A new service I'm offering - SFX Makeup for parties and events. While I can offer face painting and the basics .....think how much more fun it would be to have an artist willing to cut, bruise, and completely cover your guests in blood? Contact me for more details.
